Today marks 6 full years of sending out weekly sports devotions via the internet - (that is over 300 devos) - it has provided awesome opportunities in ministry all over the world from ireland to korea to nepal - it has reaquainted me with old friends across the states - now i am even getting the opportunity to go all over the world in person with the glorious Gospel message - decided i would put this final 2007 devo on the blog - (it typically goes out via an email roster) - hope it is encouraging to you:
Here we are on the eve of a new year and I have a serious question for you? What type of player will you be this year? Are you going to train hard? Are you going to play hard? Are you going to eat right? Are you going to lose unwanted weight? What are your resolutions?
Players set goals (resolutions.) I think there are some legitimate things we need to consider:
1. Training involves a daily commitment to working out! Will you spend daily time letting the weights, etc. transform your body? Will you let the Word transform your life? (See Romans 12:1-2 and Psalm 119)
2. Will you be a player that when you get in the game you take advantage of every opportunity? Will you be an attacker on offense and a strong defender? Will you avoid grieving or quenching the Holy Spirit? (See Ephesians 4:30 and 1 Thessalonians 5:19)
3. Eat right? Yeah what you put in is important! Think about it. Take in the important stuff. See number 1 where told to take in the Word of God!!!!!!!!! (See Psalm 34:8)
4. Will you lose those pounds that slow you down? Will you put away things that are keeping you from serving the Lord to your fullest potential! (See Hebrews 12:1-2)
How about setting yourself up to be an effective “player” for God’s team!!!!!!!!!!!!

December Newsletter
Greetings Team
I hope the CHRISTmas season reminds you of God's goodness and His love that was evidenced in sending His Son into the game of life as our Substitute! I am reminded of the angels message to the shepherds in Luke 2. They were told to not be afraid because they were to hear a message of "good news" with "great joy." It is truly the most wonderful message there is!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so honored to be used by the Lord to share this glorious message and the opportunities for 2008 are great. We long to have an even greater presence in our local community, continue to reach out across the USA and abroad. The opportunities are there but we need your help.
Would you make a P.A.S.S. to us?
P= pray for us and partner with us
A= advise us - we are always open to wise counsel
S= share about us with those in your circle of influnce - we need more bookings for camps, speaking engagements, etc
S= support - we need financial help for the ministry to keep moving forward - we keep things at bare minimum costs but still they cost
We are excited about upcoming outreach. We just received a request for 100 devotional books for an organization. I am planning to be in Costa Rica in April to conduct some clinics. Plus we have requests to be in Malaysia with a team and the Czech Republic folks are asking for us to return. On the local front we want to launch as many Blacktop Bible Clubs as we can this coming year and also conduct multiple camps. Much to do - HELP!

November Newsletter
November Newsletter 2007
This newsletter finds us fully immersed in outreach with InBounds. I have recently returned from a mission trip to the Czech Republic. It was a great trip but the 13 days away from Lisa and the kids were rough. I’m glad to be home.
Now it is back to it here in the states with the past weekend spent conducting a clinic in Indiana. The whole family went on this one so the kids can got some grandma and grandpa time. Plus basketball season has officially begun. Therefore I have a few busy months of practices and games as I coach the varsity boys’ team at Statesville Christian School. (On top of all of this I am also serving as the interim Worship Pastor at our home church.)
The next few weeks are critical for our ministry as we try to raise the funds to cover needs for 2008. These needs include our outreach endeavors as well as salary. There is much to be done, yet the bank still expects our mortgage payments. As you read through some of the plans for 2008 please pray about how you could help financially. It is also a great time of year to approach businesses as they plan their end-of-the-year giving. (Donations can now be made online at www.InBoundsMinistries.com)
2008: We have been requested in many venues. At this point we are still determining what we can do and ultimately which are doors from God. I will be in Costa Rica in April conducting some basketball clinics in villages. I have also been requested to bring a team to Malaysia, and was asked to return to the Czech Republic.
We are presently booking speaking/singing engagements, as well as basketball camps/clinics. Please let us know if we can help fill a need in your area.
Specific Prayer Requests:
-Doors to be opened for us to proclaim a clear Gospel message
-Finances to come in to allow us to continue on this path that God has led us down – we need to raise $50,000
-Salary
-Missions funding
-Equipment
-Maintenance for ministry van
-Production of literature
-Production of shirts, etc.
-Wisdom on which missions opportunities to pursue
-Medical insurance for Lisa and me

Indiana and new teammates
Hello everyone - just returned from conducting a clinic in Indiana - we had a great time as we worked with players for and then specifically with coaches - it was a great time of discussing how to use athletics to minister - and the icing on the cake was 3 young people making professions of faith in the "Substitute" Jesus Christ! - praise God for new teammates!
I have also begun the new hoops season - our team is off to a 2-0 start and excited to lace them up through the year - yet time gets crazy now with 3 of my own kids playing on teams also

Home from the Czech
I am home and still very tired. The trip went very well and the Lord blessed me with two simple words said to me by one of the young men at the camp I was conducting. I had just given the Gospel to them through the use of a translator. I explained Jesus as the "Substitue" in the game of life. I called on them place their faith in the finished work of the "Substitute." Then the young man walked up to me with these two precious words - "I believe!"

On a Hoops Mission!
Hello everyone - I am presently in the Czech Republic in a small town called Domazlice - we are here to conduct a basketball clinic as a platform for sharing the Gospel - I will utilize this blog in the future for ministry updates, ministry needs, and for the sports devotions that are written each week
2 Corinthians 5:20 "Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God."
